The house is located at the foot of the extinct volcanic cone Diamond Head on the island of O'ahu. Picturesque landscapes, green spaces, and dense vegetation surround the property, providing complete privacy. It's a second home for the owners, who visit regularly with their family to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy the beauty of nature.

The property was purchased during the pandemic, and the owners enlisted the help of Tantalus Studio for help selecting furnishings and artwork. A few years later, they collaborated with the homeowners again to completely transform their kitchen, master bathroom, and walk-in closet. The décor and furnishings in these rooms were outdated and no longer suited the needs of a modern family. The goal was to redesign them with a focus on ease of use, functionality, and an aesthetic that blends modernity with tropical inspiration.

The master dressing room, which is connected to the bathroom, is a room that receives only a small amount of natural light. The designer capitalized on this somewhat dark atmosphere by introducing walnut cabinetry with hand-woven seagrass panels incorporated into the back wall. The wall that awkwardly divided the space has also been removed from the room, replaced by a freestanding, double-sided island with a travertine countertop.
